My mind is on FIRE today ya’ll; the last ask I got regarding how divinity worked in my LoZ headcanon got me seriously thinking and I think it’s high-time I do some rewriting on how the Sages and Champions work.

Aight so hear me out:

Lemme explain as quick as possible so I don’t like… talk ya’lls ears off. xD

-Golden Goddesses are basically The Main Goddesses and creates the entirety of the world, not just Hyrule in specific.

-After creating the world and all that fun stuff they then create several groups of deities that are tasked with shaping, guiding, and protecting separate realms. These deities are known as The Sages. As a side note, I’m ignoring the whole “seven sages” thing since the only actively consistent races in LoZ as a whole are Gerudo, Gorons, Hylians, Rito, and Zora. This’ll also be so my headcanon for Saria won’t conflict with this change. 

-Each Sage represents one of the main races of the realm they shape; said races are shaped in their image maybe???? not too sure on that part.

-Bonus points: to keep a particular tidbit of my own headcanon where I made the Guardian Dragons correspond with the Seven Sages (full headcanon on that seen HERE), each sage is a dragon with two different forms: “regular form” and “dragon form”. I’m a sucker for dragons in disguise, please forgive me :’(

-Champions of Hyrule headcanon remains the same, however it’s base-work can hold more significance since they not only represent each race in Hyrule, they also are said to be directly “linked” to their corresponding guardian dragon

-Lorule and any other kingdom I can manage to headcanon up outta my ass will follow the same structure.

-Deity Dragons for Hyrule will be:

Hylia (in proxy, Zelda)

Ruto/Faron

Rauru\Lanayru

Darunia/Eldin

Nabooru/Ordona

-ALTERNATIVELY, and this is somethin’ I just thought up for the Seven Sages thing! The “Seven Sages” could be a representation of, say…the seven realms of this world? So each realm would have a leading deity that is a part of the Seven Sages instead of it representing races in specific. That would allow me to work Termina and the Twilight Realm into the headcanon a lot easier. O:

SOOOOOOOOOO YEAH! That’s my rough thoughts on the possible changes to how the Sages work in LoZ lore for my au/headcanon. :) I’ll more than likely go back in and tweak as needed but, it’s at least something for me to fully look at and consider before I make it “canon” to my headcanon, as it were. owo
