Fuck you Fiona was already an ogre and was trying to hide that part of herself because her parents told her to be ashamed but shrek helped her accept that part of herself and become her true self unapologetically! Fuck you

Shrek is a masterpiece about loving and accepting your partner no matter how they look.

Shrek forever after showcases this beautifully, (shrek the third ruined people’s views of the franchise, but seriously I will defend the fourth shrek movie to death), after Shrek gets a wish to never meet Donkey, and as a result Fiona, he realizes just how important her and their family are to him.

He took it for granted, he said ugly things before the wish, BUT he took the time to learn he was wrong and how to make Fiona happy in the new timeline even if he knew he may never get back to his old one. He realizes this Fiona is jaded and hurt, and takes the time to build her trust.

And he accepts that this fiona may never love him, he regrets how he acted and what he said and he would accept dying if it meant he made her happy just one last time. Shrek forever after made me CRY.

I will not stand for this shrek slander in this the year 2020 of our lord. Fiona choosing to be an ogre with shrek was HER choice. She had a chance to go back in shrek 2 and be human with a handsome human shrek but chose to remain ogre. Why? because she loved shrek for who he was and didnt want him to be someone hes not.
