For decades i see sitcoms do the “is it fake?” And always thought they meant…made of plastic or glass….but they mean…its artificial? Why would i want a 2000 dollar carbon diamond made by dirt when i can buy a cheaper one exactly the same made by science?

its the capitalism. The diamond industry has built its empire on false scarcity and marketing to guilt people into buying the most expensive yet boring rock. With grown diamonds they cant keep up the illusion that diamonds are rare. The sollution? spend just a fortune on marketing to discredit the grown diamonds and make them seem lesser. Fun fact its a similar trend with grown caviar.
