i feel like it’s even more important to note that [SPOILERS!] jack harkness, the handsome pan dude you see kissing the main characters here, ends up being turned immortal and gets a wholeass spinoff series after that episode as well as become a recurring character in future doctor who series. the literal opposite of bury your gays.
He also becomes one of the oldest and most influential characters in the series. Eventually he does die but thats due to being older than the universe itself by that point. Let that sink in. the handsome pan guy ends up living to be older than the universe itself and the most influential person. a household name across most galaxies.
