Is anyone else ever genuinely shocked when you find out you have an impact on someone’s life? A coworker can be like “I’ve missed seeing you” and I’m just like “???? you?? missed me????? My presence has an effect on your daily experience???? I affect things??? W h a t ? ? ?”

I work in a cancer center where they serve lunch in a cafeteria and stuff and this one cook and I have an excellent relationship. She’s great. I love seeing her and saying hi. Whole reason I go to lunch there instead of going to Subway or BK. I made her a Disney magnet. It’s great. But I only see her like 10 minutes a day, so I think nothing of it.

And then COVID happened, and I started working from home for a few months. One day I get a random message on Facebook. It’s my lunch friend asking if I’m okay. She up and hunted me down on Facebook to make sure I was all good because she was worried that I just disappeared and I will never forget that XD
