someone vandalised a bunch of traps protecting native trees and birds at a park ive been to and love, why are people like this :(( public park trusts don’t have lots of money
They have a page here if you wanna donate to help them replace traps + continue to maintain the park
Even a $5 donation is used to plant a native tree that will be there for generations to come ❤️
Another thing I should’ve added in the beginning: this park is important bc it really is a community hub! That includes:
• being a learning space for school children
• teaching the community about plants, local birds and insects, and Maori history
• being a composting site
• being a home to multiple different endangered bird species
• being a ground to grow and protect multiple different rare and endangered native tree species
The destruction of the traps means that these endangered flora and fauna are at heightened risk of being preyed on by pests!
