Lawful good cleric with 800gp: Hey i notice that dress in the window. I was wondering how much it is

700+ elderly elf seamstress: Ah yes. That is a very nice one. Im very proud of it. If youre interested in it, it will be about 3 silver

Cleric: did you say silver?

Seamstress: yes. 3 silver. Im sorry the price is so much but things have been very difficult lately. But i have faith that things will turn up

Cleric: are you sure you really wanna sell it for 3 silver? I mean…

Seamstress: I know, im sorry. i wish i could sell it for less but its been hard enough to keep up with bills

Cleric: I mean… if you could find it in your heart to part with it for 2 silver for little ol’ me?

Entire party: Starts to shame the cleric for scamming this elderly woman with a struggling business out of 1 silver. Cleric didnt even have any silver pieces

I did some quick googling and a gold piece is like 100 bucks. Silver is 1/10th.

Good aligned cleric haggles down a elderly woman on her handmade dress from 30 bucks to 20 bucks while having 80,000 dollars in their pockets.

I hope this woman becomes the BBEG and wrecks this cleric down the line, it’s what they deserve.

“Lawful good” more like Elon Musk lmfao

I think the idea was to mock the cleric’s poor roleplaying skills (or if this is a computer RPG, it may be mocking the programmers’ inappropriate attempt to force an artificial alignment shift).

yeah it was to dunk on the character. some context the cleric had just seen the bard haggle down a couple of ship canons down from 1500gp to 1200gp and wanted to try haggling too. in all fairness this is the first time the cleric had left her hometown and the church didnt really prepare her for the real world
