Part of me feels like the reason outspoken politicians burn out so fast or turn schizoid-hystaricals like AOC or Ron Paul is because they slowly realize that everyone they work with is a cold-blooded sociopath with zero interest in promoting the public good and will gladly find any reason to murder you for the sake of their conflicting interests.
