ghoul-party liked this undeactivateable said: there’s multiple (sub)types of melanin, some generate brown-to-black pigment, others more yellow-ish. on top of that there’s genetic determination at play for how much melanin is produced and stored in your skin. w/ all those things combined it could very well be that your skin LOOKS pale but actually has quite some protection just without gaining the typical brown tan
