I won’t lie I won’t focus so terribly much on how each kingdom works outside the basics because I wanna focus on the characters more, but to answer your question:

-Sarasaland: “Sister” kingdom to the Mushroom Kingdom, it’s known for its rolling deserts and expansive oasis.  The kingdom is the Mushroom Kingdom’s oldest allies and that alliance is still going strong. Daisy is the future ruler of the kingdom but at the current moment, her parents remain at the throne. Inhabitants include Mushlings, Gao, Goombas.

-Koopa Kingdom: Neighboring Kingdom to the Mushroom Kingdom, best known for it’s lush mountainous land and paddy fields. The surrounding villages are modest and simplistic in comparison to the Capitol, which holds the only large city in all the kingdom, of which is situated on one of the highest mountain tops. Ruled by King Bowser, inhabited by Koopas, Goombas, and Broodals.

-Kong Country: An ancient island that’s only now recently entered the political affairs of the world, Kong Country is a small, simplistic kingdom led by the “Head Banana” Donkey Kong. It’s known for its widely varying locations and climates dependant of where you are on the island, and it’s main currency is… well. Bananas! Inhabited primarily by Kongs, intelligent apes who lack the ability to speak, so they communicate through sign language. It’s also inhabited by a small population of Kremlings.

-Metro Kingdom: The most modern kingdom amongst their neighbors, they’re known for their tall tall buildings and sprawling cities. They’re the closest in terms of familiarity to our world. Currently governed by President Pauline, this kingdom is also different from the rest in that it’s one of the few governed through democracy instead of monarchy. Inhabited by humans.

Gravestone Kingdom: Also known as the Paranormal Dimension, Gravestone Kingdom is an unusual kingdom characterized by their murky marshlands, dense foggy forests, and dry dry deserts. They exist on a plane of limbo and can’t be reached through normal means, and are only accessible to the living via magicked paintings. King Boo is the ruler of the kingdom and its inhabitants consist of Boos, Dry Bones, Shy Guys, and Tostarenans.

-WarioLand: Not an actual kingdom but it’s independent from any other established government, WarioLand is a decently sized island owned by the surprisingly wealthy Wario. He declared the island its own country upon buying it and while no one takes it seriously as such, it is a very popular location due to it’s biggest draw: it’s amusement park. It’s got everything you could possibly want to experience for all ages: arcades, thrill rides, waterparks, safaris, casinos, strip clubs, the whole shebang and then some, and so it’s one of the biggest tourist attractions in all the world. It’s President in both company and country is Wario with his right hand-man Waluigi.

-Dinosaur Lands: Not an actual kingdom by any means but notable nonetheless, Dinosaur Land is a huge archipelago that dot the ocean in a distinct pattern. Each island is the homeplace of significant dinosaur species of this world, including Yoshi Island, Birdo Isle, Rex Valley, and so on. Notable inhabitants include Yoshisaurs, Birdosaurs, Rexes, Piranha Plants
