i will never forgive life is strange for making the most unlikable character and then acting like its a difficult moral choice on whether or not to save her or literally everyone else (despite the storm being mentioned before the time travel powers are even unlocked)
life is strange had such a good concept. time traveling lesbian with butterfly effect rules? thats such a good premise. and then they ruined it by making the main motivation of the game being an unlikable selfish bitch of a lemming who keeps dying due to her own stupid choices. like… was it so hard to make her a likeable person being stalked by final destination style deaths by coincidence rather than someone who actively seeks situations that will kill her? the only one i do not attribute to her own incompetence is the car accident she gets into after you go back in time to save her father.

theres good ways to write people who are assholes because theyre coping with traumas (toph beifong and gregg lee come to mind) but this one just isnt it. the main thing about asshole characters is that if theyre not charming in some way theres not any investment to be had in them. because the game has done nothing to endear her to me that means the final choice to save her or the town (despite the storm being alluded too before the first time travel happens but thats a whole different can of worms) the final choice is easy. however it DOES make literally everything thats happened in the game completely pointless. and thats pretty much a summery of the whole game. you hang out with a bitch of a lemming and then undo everything making the experience feel like wasted time.
the biggest disappointment in the game is that it had the potential to be great if only its main supporting character was better written

as much as i love chloe’s character, i gotta agree with u. itll be alot better if she wasnt so reckless cause my god does she remind me of my suicidal friends back then. i really disliked the game for the final choice, it makes ur choices not even matter in the end regardless of what you chose.

Ok but at first I thought it was about Chloe from Ladybug because it also fits well

sailor-tenchi said: Hard disagree. While she’s not everyone’s cup of tea, she’s loyal to the bone and eager to help and encourage Max. She’s got a lot of love and a lot of trauma. This is shown in both text and subtext, from main cutscenes, to things you find by looking around, and what Max gives insight on via journal and conversation. Even if you didn’t find her charming, Max did, and Max is the one up there,

She’s an angry teenager at the worst part of her life, coping with abuse and trauma. It makes perfect sense to me that she’s reckless and selfish at the start because literally no one (no, not even her own mom) was looking out for her. Personally, I love that LiS portrayed the uglier side of mental
