I think that's a neat concept. I don't see whats so bad about her though, just because you would have done something different doesn't make the character badly written
no what makes her badly written is that shes supposed to be the main emotional investment but her recklesness and impulsiveness does not endear the player too her. it makes saving her a chore and gets tiresome because its her own fault that she puts herself in these situations. she is a burden throughout the game with no redeeming qualities
