one time, when i worked at the summer camps, this six year old kid came up to me, pulled me aside, and said “i’m scared of sam.” sam was the name of another counselor at our camp, so i take this super seriously, and i ask the kid to tell me what sam did that made him scary and when it happened.

kid looks at me and goes “no not sam from camp. sam the skeleton man. he says you’re not going to have a fun time and then he comes and kills you.”

turns out the kid was afraid that sans undertale was going to be hiding in the bathroom at the park so he wanted me to go with him. i walked him there, of course, but i also reassured him that “sam” lived in a video game and couldn’t hurt him in real life. i think he believed me.
