what i want to say: fandomification of twitch streamers is a highway to hell. making a ‘fandom’ for a specific person or group can easily be a slippery slope to idolization and the intense parasocial relationships you see in young teenagers obsessed with people like dream. being a fandom and being a community are two extremely separate things. a community is not centered around one person, but it’s a group they have cultivated that can support each other.
