Parallel play is supposed to be an early stage of childhood development that transitions into social play, but continuing to do it into adulthood is not considered “normal”

My friends and I will literally sit next to each other on our phones/laptops and not say a word to each other(except to occasionally show a funny meme or something) for hours and it’s?? Literally fine?? My friendships with these people have lasted the longest actually?? I’d say “we can’t all be neurotypical, Karen” but this should be acceptable for NT’s to do as well.
