Not to get too in depth about this image, but i love the way this works with the inner narrative of monsters and humans not knowing ENOUGH about each other, Monsters just know that human souls are eternal and human emotions can affect them to the point of harmful intent can amplify a human’s strength many fold.

Meanwhile, Humans do not know Monsters are more susceptible to damage if the human is angry and hateful or fearful, humans only know that monsters are capable of magic that damages them (regardless of intention) and that monsters can steal human souls, this would be incredibly scary to a human with no access to magic or understanding of the in universe workings of souls and determination

The only thing they both know is “the other creature can do something i cant, and it fucking hurts!”
