No, Team Magma’s plan is actually even dumber than Aqua’s. Because Team Magma’s plan is to create more land and basically get rid of the water, or create unnatural droughts in the land.
The result of which being that life lives off of water, thusly limiting the water for ALL life means they essentially caused mass genocide of literally everything on the planet.
Team Aqua’s plan isn’t as dumb because they’ll just kill all terrestrial life on the planet. The creatures in the ocean will be fine, but all those thigns that can’t live at sea are royally screwed over.
Oh, and they both realize instantly what a horribly stupid plan it is THE MOMENT THEY SUCCEED.
Yeah no, worst teams forever. Plasma at least had the benefit of being about ‘Liberating Pokemon’ which was just a ruse for Ghetsis to take over as ruler of the world.
An infinitely better plan than ‘Genocide because I don’t like how much Land or Water there is right now.’ That’s almost as shallow as ‘Genocide because humans ruin beautiful things.’
Actually, the magma will turn the water into steam as it cools to land putting the water into the atmosphere where eventually it will fall as rain. The same reason aquas plan won’t work. Because all the rain will have to pull the water from somewhere, the ocean. Magmas plan actually would succeed.
Except this is Pokemon logic, where Pokemon literally created the world. Groudon and Kyogre don’t just use preexisting materials for their powers, they LITERALLY create new land masses and LITERALLY create new water.
Kyogre HAS the power to flood the entire world and make an ocean world, he’s just kept in balance by the other pokemon. And Groudon HAS the power to turn the world into nothing but a dust ball.
If this was the real world yes, you’d be correct. But it’s not, this is Pokemon logic.
Or maybe their powers are exaggerated. The legendaries are legendaries for a reason. When they were worshiped as gods, it may have seemed like they could do all this because people weren’t as advanced in knowledge. there’s no reason to disregard physics.
That wouldn’t make sense since in all of the other Pokemon games, the Pokemon that could destroy the world CAN destroy the world. The ability to steal all life or create all life, the ability to destroy the world and recreate it, the ability to manipulate time and space, none of them have been exaggerated, they worked as advertised.
Why would Groudon and Kyogre be different?
I’m not saying they can’t destroy the world, I’m saying that the way they destroy the world isn’t what you think it is. Groudon can’t get rid of all the water in the world, but he can force all the magma in the mantle onto the surface, causing there to be lava everywhere and all the water to be in the air because it’s to hot to condense and the world to collapse on its empty self.
Kyogre can’t flood the whole world but he can cause massive tsunamis that will destroy everything before settling and either flowing back into the ocean, new lakes or evaporating into the atmosphere. The sea level would fall a but because all the water is somewhere else but there would still be land. They do have the power to destroy the world but not in the way you think. Can we just agree that both their plans are fucking dumb and should be stopped, which is kind of the point?
No, because magmas plan actually has a chance of succeeding.
