If someone could talk me through the tumblr etiquette surrounding trigger warnings, that would be great.
I know a lot of stuff I post mentions topics that could be triggering but I have no idea how to best signify this, say if someone was triggered by novice questions would I tag the post as “novice questions” or “tw novice questions”.
I won’t be able to start most posts with a TW because I reblog more than I write myself, but I don’t understand how tagging the TW will make a difference if the tags are marked under the post so it’ll be too late by the time it’s seen.
But I see a lot of people tagging the TWs so I’m wondering if there’s something I don’t know about.
Also thanks.
Well the real problem is that people misuse the term “trigger”
It originally referred to people with PTSD and teh trigger would force them into flashbacks or anxiety attacks. I don’t think that most of tumblr has suffered traumatic enough events to have PTSD so when people are like “Gore is my trigger” it’s false. Goer is something that they don’t like and don’t wanna see on their dash, but it is not a trigger unless they had a gore related traumatic event.
