OCs are not a bad thing. But OCs that are nearly 20 times older than what is considered a god within the source material with no real reason is a bad design. The eccentric colours strain the eyes and make it hard to look at, thus making it unappealing. 

Now, that being said, I never said that they suck, I just said that her OC was not a good design and pointed out all the flaws so that they could fix it. I didn’t get mean until they acted like a complete twat. I never said my OC was supirior, I just said that it’s good in design. It’s good because it stays within the realms of possibility within what’s canon with the source material. But even my “superior OC” has it’s flaws within design. The tail design is unnecessary and his backstory of being a run away noble is a bit cliche within literature.

This is the words from the criticism that started it this kerfuffle. 

Your blog has too many things on it. All the pixel ponies are causing clutter and lag. Your art would get a lot more respect if you drew it rather than use pony creator and nobody will bat an eye at you if you keep using a generic over saturated red and black pony oc. I am telling you this because these are the problems your blog has and you can fix it. Whether you choose to is up to you though.

The thing that made me take notice in this was the fact that there are eight pixel ponies that are not even relevant to the blog. I’m not saying desktop ponies are bad, I’m just saying that it should be kept to one or two and it needs to be relevant to the blog. I also, was pointing out that drawn things, even if it’s complete shit, gets more respect from the fanbase than pony creator thngs. I wasn’t rude in it. I didn’t say something like “Your blog is terrible and this is why. now fix it” I said “there are some problems with your blog. These are some things that you can fix to make it better.” But she took it as a personal attack and said

“Uh… That’s the thing I use for my updates. Not my art. Go fuck yourself”

And this was odd to me. If you can make art, why don’t you just make art for the updates? What’s the point of using pony creator if you can already make art?

Anywho, I know that you shouldn’t be rude when giving criticism, but I also know that you shouldn’t sugar coat it. That’s why when I give criticism, I just state the facts as they are.

Anywho, I think I might have gotten off track a bit so I’m going to ent this post here.
