Don’t tell me you “understand” why I’m vegan. If you understood you’d be vegan, too.
Understanding doesn’t equal agreement. I understand why Walter White started to cook meth, doesn’t mean I’m gonna buy an RV and a barrel of methylamine.
I understand that animals are killed so we can eat meat but I still believe it’s more healthy to get protein from meat rather than supplements. My best friend is vegetarian but she also understands that it’s a choice and doesn’t try to force people to be vegetarian. She ALSO understands that animals like cats and dogs need meat in their diets or else they become sick with malnourishment and it puts their life in danger.
I respect her choice and make an effort to eat as little meat as I can in front of her and she respects my choice by not forcing me to eat her way and by not getting mad and slipping up by accidentally eating meat in front of her…
However, we both got mad at this one kid who was making a point to eat bacon right in front of her and we were both ready to punch him in the face.
TL;DR Vegetarian/vegan is a choice just as much as it’s a choice to eat a diet with meat in it and like any choice, both parties should respect the others choices.
