A couple years ago, I spent three weeks in New York. When I wasn’t getting insulted for forgetting to tip literally everyone ever, I was trying out the local cuisine. And I have too say: for all the hundreds of god damn fast food restaurants America has, their fast food is goddamn horrific.
I had a burger at a McDonalds. To be frank, it was disgusting. The whole thing was damp and soft. It practically fell apart in my hands. There was way too much sauce, too many different sauces too. It created a gross mess of different flavours in the mouth. Spicy, mild, sweet, salty. Ew. I have to assume they did this because the burger itself almost didn’t have any taste in it. Stored in a freezer for way too long, probably.
This can’t be normal, I thought. It can’t be the standard. But I went to 10 different fast food restaurants in those 3 weeks and I was severely disappointed every time.
I don’t see how the typical American gets fast food so often that it creates an obesity epidemic, especially not when the crap that passes for fast food over there is so horrendous.
There is good fast food out there. Delicious fast food, with fresh ingredients and masterful use of spices and sauce. But in America, or New York at least, they seem to put more emphasis on the “fast” than the “food.”
Because people are idiots.Mcdonalds is one of the most disgusting fast food places that only stays open through bribery and people only eat at fast food places because they are too impatient to wait for food to be cooked after you order it. They want food that is premade and kept under a heat lamp for three days.
