I mean, some Alicorns aren’t overpowered or Mary Sues. If they have a set back story on why they are an Alicorn, it’s okay. But I hate how people see an Alicorn OC and think “Oh look, another Mary Sue”. It angers me greatly…

Alicorns are supposed to be powerful thought. You can’t have someone be an alicorn and make them a waitress. They need to be incredibly powerful because the onlyt four we have seen can shape the earth itself.
They are supposed to be powerful. But that is just more of a reason to not make alicorn OCs
I want to ask you one question…
How powerful do you think Twilight Sparkle was when she ascended?
Powerful enough to walk straight into the land of the dead, stop three beings of evil, force cutiemarks onto somepony else, complete a spell that has eluded unicorns for ages and enter void made entirely of magic.
Also, afterwards, she was able to save the universe from a thousand years of twilight and chaos, save a different universe from a thousand years of darkness and enslavement, defeat a being capable of eating magic and survive absorbing the power of three alicorns who are individually near OP.
If the point you were trying to make was that Twi was a normal pony before ascending to being an alicorn and was still normal while an alicorn, you seem to have forgotten these things.
She was not a normal unicorn. She was the personification of magic.
But have her powers increased since then?
She’s been learning new spells and getting used to flying. I don’t really think that’s solid proof of her being more powerful, smarter maybe… but not more powerful.
Hey, buddy, you cannot ask for me to prove my point and completely disregard it when I do. Yes, she HAS gotten more powerful throughout the series. In season one she would be tired after teleporting multiple people and there would be magical burnout afterwards and now she can teleport the whole cast across the everfree. In too many pinkies, she could barely turn an apple into an orange and now she can turn whole ponies into a different species. Her magical abilities HAVE gotten stronger canonically.
True, but is she on par with Princess Celestia?
Obviously not. Celestia has had thousands of years to develop her power. Even she lasted longer than twi did when she fought chrysalis. Also, celestia could wield the elements alone whereas twi still needed her friends as a conduit for their magic.
However, she WAS way more powerful than celestia was after celestia, luna and cafence gaver her their magic.
Now, you should realize that your argument is rapidly losing ground and if you keep asking me to prove what can be proven by watching a few episodes, I’m just gonna start ignoring you because it’s gonna start getting annoying.
And you honestly believe that all alicorns should be gods or demigods in pony bodies. The problem is that’s only your headcanon. Current show runner Meghan McCarthy has confirmed that Twilight Sparkle is not on the same level as Celestia so she won’t be outliving her friends or lifting up any celestial bodies anytime soon.

The reason why alicorns should be gods or demigods is because there are only four and they have all been shown to have god/demigod levels of power. It’s not headcanon, it’s show canon.
Show creator Lauren Faust even confirmed it herself that Celestia and Luna were not gods, they only had been gifted/cursed with ridiculously long lifespans and immense powers. Of course it would give the denizens of Equestria enough reason to mistake them for goddesses. So once again, It’s been proven that alicorn princesses being goddesses is just another headcanon theory.
(in Christianity and other monotheistic religions) the creator and ruler of the universe and source of all moral authority; the supreme being.- (in certain other religions) a superhuman being or spirit worshiped as having power over nature or human fortunes; a deity.
They are superhuman (well, superequine) and have power over natures that other ponies cannot control (sun and moon) and they are worshiped in show like dieties. There are shrines to them and stained glass windows dedicated to their adventures and holidays dedicated to them.
They are, by definition, gods.
So… does that mean Superman is a god? The guy can lift the Earth, travel at a speed nearly faster than light, survive long periods underwater and in space, gifted with reflexes faster than a pistol shrimp and can survive walking on the surface of the sun.
I guess we decided to make his Kryptonian heritage noncanon then.
If you are saying that him being an alien means he can’t be a god then you should watch the marvel thor movie. Because in it, thor, odin, loki, the frost giants, the dark elves, asgard and everything from norse mythology are aliens.
So according to you, in order to be a god, The requirements are:
Invulnerability
Enhanced Abilities
Superhuman reflexes
A celestial origin…
Sounds like you’ve been watching too many Ancient Aliens on the “History” Channel.
So with that logic, any fictional character with what you have suggested is capable of being a god?
Nope.
According to the definistion, in order to become a god, you need to have abilities that regular people do not have and you must be worshiped.
You are the one who brought aliens into this when you brought up superman, who for a time was considered a god.
If we went back in time to, say roman times, and had guns, lighters and cars, we would be revered as a god. Remember in that one animated movie where the spanish dudes became gods of the city of gold because they had a horse? And then the priest was banished and found cortez and believed he was the true god?
Bowser from the Super Mario franchise has actually survived being on the surface of a sun and getting caught in a collapsing star, and he has a ton of loyal followers… does that make him a god?
The koopas do not worship him as a god, they follow him as a king. That is why he is known as king koopa.
