SORRY LONG POST

So this happened and I want to talk about it.

The first thing you have to understand is that ImmortalHD has his own opinion. He thinks it is senseless to point out that there are not enough minorities in Games. He cares about the games and thinks it will not make the Games better. And he likes to make jokes. So he made a joke primarily about this journalism.

In my opinion: it’s good to have the discussion about minorities in games. It’s good to point it out. But on the other hand, if you tell devs, that they “have to” make games with certain characters, it will hurt the creativity and with this the process of making Art.

Second: In respect of any gender identity I will use “they” as a genderneutral singular pronoun because of the lack of a better one.
This person is exactly doing what he fights against. They want equality in gender identity, but they “put down” the ones they are not in. In my opinion this is highly poisonous behaviour for the greater good. People will not take you seriously becasue of that and just find more reasons to be against equality. On their blog @goldfishsnacks ( http://goldfishsnacks.tumblr.com/ ) they are directly saying that cis-people are not welcome for fighting for equality for transgenders (for, for, for - idk how to say it better) so they are banning people from their group because of their gender identity. These are extremist-behaviours and most people don’t like extremists, when you don’t change your behaviour, you will not change anything for the good, you will just make people hate you and thats just sad for all the transgender people who are actually trying to to make things right.

For everyone who is reading this: Harassing is bad. Don’t harass this person, be better.

Third: How exactly did ImmortalHD misgender them? He said “you are putting words in my mouth” - no gender. He said “sure accomplished a lot here”. Not even a pronoun. And *tips fedora* looks for me like a stylish way to leave a conversation (opinion). I really don’t get it.

on a more personal note: I don’t know if you are even interested in a serious debate. It doesn’t seem like it, when I read your blog. I’m sorry for your health-condition at the moment though. It’s good to fight for equal rights, it’s okay to focus on one group. But don’t put down other groups. Everyone deserves equal rights and freedom of Speech/Art is one. That’s my opinion. It’s okay to point out if something can be problematic, like ImmortalHDs joke, but cut out the social justice bullshit.
