Does anybody remember the YA bookseries “Animorphs” by K.A.Applegate?
I LOVED these books. Started to draw comics because of them.
In Germany we never got the full series (they stopped publishing them around vol, 27 or something, and most of the specials like Chronicle-books never made it here), so I was happy whenever I could get the later books when I was on vacation in other countries.
Animorphs were the first books that I read in english. I know that there were a few video games, toys and a TV series in the USA and I was sooo jealous. xD TBH I still would love to play the video games.
AAAAND I loved the Andalites.
Really.

I think this series helped me find out I was a furry. I always wanted to be able to morph into animals. And htis got pretty dark for a kids book when the kids realized that the aliens being controlled by the yeerks (I think they were called) Were sentient creatures trapped in their own body.
