I’m not antikin, I just disagree with people who kin with living people or fictional characters. It’s one thing to relate to a character, that’s perfectly fine but to go out in the world and say that you are actually the fictional character or a living human is disrespectful to the creator or the living human. If you wanna claim you were an animal or human who has died in a past life, that’s fine. I respect reincarnation. but to go out in the world and say you’re actually someones OC, that’s just disrespectful. You don’t know the OCs story. For all you know the OC could be based on the creators own history so claiming you’re someones OC is claiming you’re the creator which leads back to the “don’t kin with living people” thing.

The only time kinning with an OC is okay is if you or a friend made the OC specifically to be you. because that character actually is you.

Hell, I talked to some of my best friends who are kin as a coping mechinism and they agree that kinning with someone elses OC is sketch as fuck. The only time you should kin with an OC is if the OC is specifically made to be you. because that character IS you.

well, when it comes to dead people, it isn’t as much of a big deal since reincarnation is a thing. It’s mostly fictionkin that grind my gears, and even then it’s only the ones who claim kin with other peopels OCs or claim that a character canonically does whatever because they claim kin with a character and they do whatever. 

no, it’s more of loads of bad expirience. You seem to neglecting the part about multiple other kin attacking someone who asked them not to kin with a character based off of a halucination. (but I guess that’s not ablest because otherkin are complete angels who do nothing wrong)

Basically claiming that you’re someone elses character is fucking gross. First off, you probably don’t even know that characters full story, only the creator does. Second off you don’t know why the character was made. I’ve seen people yell at a creator for asking them not to kin with a character who was based off of the creators halucination

I’ve also seen someone claim to be a character and also trans so they told everyone in the fandom that the character was canonically trans and when the person got called out on their bullshit, the person started claiming anyone who doesn’t think the character is trans is transphobic.
