THIS. This is the end of the war for Pearl and Garnet. They’ve spent five thousand years since the war fighting corrupted gems and seeing old friends as monsters and having to poof and bubble them and know there was no way to save them, no matter what Rose thought.
Amethyst didn’t fight in the war. Bismuth never saw corruption. But Pearl and Garnet saw everything through from the very beginning, and now they’ve finally seen the end of the war. They aren’t just friends in this moment, they’re soldiers who finally get to go home (so to speak) and relax and be happy.
