My only complaint about steven universe is that nothing happened to stevens eye despite it being forshadowed since the very first episode
To emphasize heres some of the forshadowing
Cookie cat has two different eye colours which unlocked his first power
stevens next power was unlocked when destroying a giant eyeball
STevens “battle damage”
The foe that got closest to killing him was eyeball ruby who only did so because pink diamonds plan worked too well
Cat steven is missing an eye
And finally, pink diamonds first pearl lost her eye to pinks tantrum
All im saying is that there was a lot of eyeball damage forshadowing that never got any payoff
If pearls are viable gemstones for steven universe setting does that mean that kidney stones would be viable?
I think we should talk about one of the most important things steven universe future expressed towards the end
Its that sometimes even when you have good intentions and try to help someone with their problems, it CAN make it worse. Greg insisting that steven didnt listen to the music properly wasnt out of maliciousness it was because its what helped give him purpose when he was stevens age and steven came to him about feeling like he has no more purpose. He was trying to help but he only know what helped him. Same with the diamonds. They all had their own ways of trying to make up for their past actions but they didnt know how to approach stevens problems in a constructive manner. They didnt have ill intent. Friends, while great to have, are not fountains of advice that can always help. More often than not, any none trained professional therapist would only be able to give advice based on their own personal experiences and that kind of becomes counterproductive in many cases because… well, humans are complex and everyone is different. What may apply to one person likely wont apply to another. It doesnt mean theres anything wrong with trying to help out friends, but sometimes the only thing that can be done is real therapy. we are no longer in stevens universe
now that we know a lot more about homeworld than when i first made sphene, i decided to revamp her a bit at least in terms of skill.
sphene is now a soil sampler who tests the various places on planets and determines the best places to place the kindergartens. her abilities which help her do this is terrakenesis. basically shes an earthbender now instead of someone with a baton and no real purpose.
I really wanna see them interract. i think it would be fun
