i posted this in my DND group naming an NPC who is one of the players fathers who got stranded on an island. He got to shed some light on what his time with the players mother was like as well as his interests and hobbies were but due to a very very badly timed nat 1 on the players part, he ended up dying.

idea: tieflings tattoo their spouses name on their bodies when getting married. If one breaks their vows, their tattoo is carved out of them while their ex spouses tattoo is magically removed.

you know what would be interesting? putting a pet sematary in your dnd campaign. Like, if a PC dies, they can go there but when they come back they end up having their alignment swapped and also arent opposed to eating flesh.
