there’s little difference between baby boomers complaining about millennials “killing” various industries by not buying anything and millennials complaining that gen z is stupid for eating tide pods. Both are indications of a much larger problem that the older generation doesn’t want to look at and instead blames the newer generation. For baby boomers complaining about millennials, the bigger problem is capitalism. For millennials complaining about genz, the problem is challenge culture.

we all know how capitalism sucks so im just gonna explain why challenge culture is horrible. Challenge culture has existed for years and most of the time they are very dangerous. In addition to the latest tide challenge, the previous challenges have been the jenner lip challenge which caused severe cuts and broken blood vessels by creating a vacuum in a shot glass with the lips. The fire challenge which was literally set a part of you on fire. The salt and ice challenge which resulted in frostbite and damage to skin tissue. And many more challenges.

Instead of complaining “oh gen z is so stupid for taking a meme so seriously” take a look at why they are doing it and challenge the culture which drove them to it. otherwise we’re no better than baby boomers complaining that millennials aren’t buying diamonds.
