theres a difference between laughing at your own jokes ina “haha im so funny right guys” kind of way and laughing as in “im just genuinly having a good time and having fun” kind of way, the first one is a desperate attempt to get laughs, the second aka the kind the mcelroys does, is genuine and sets a friendly welcoming tone, like you were just chilling with your friends and generally makes it more enjoyable
