I just realized, peridots gonna need to regenerate into somethign that has a star on it at some point to finalize her redemption. She’s most likely gonna be poofed by someone from homeworld for her betrayal. Now, who do we know from homeworld that would have an incintive to poof her? Someone who would be very pissed at her betrayal after being dragged to the bottom of the sea? I think jasper is either gonna regain control or malachite is gonna unfuse all together and jasper is gonna attack peridot.
Or perhaps this ties to the theory that Yellow Diamond will have no further use for Peridot now that she’s sided with Steven and lost her limb enhancers. (Which would eerily mirror Peridot’s earlier treatment of the Flask Robonoids, as many others have pointed out earlier.)
Well her final act to confirm her redemption, her becoming a crystal gem, she will need to regenerate. Even from a writing point of view it would make sense because regeneration would be rebirth. The peridot under yellow diamond is dead and only the peridot who is a crystal gem remains. They aren’t gonna wait until yellow diamond returns to finally make her a crystal gem unless yellow diamond isn’t the biggest bad. I think either jasper/malechite or the cluster will poof her and she will be reborn into a crystal gem. Or she will sacrifice herself to stop the cluster and straight up die.
Steven: water gets hot and evaporates into the sky until it gets heavy and falls.
Peridot: that sounds fake but okay
OKay, so with the theory of peridot being abandoned and left to die after giving reports on the cluster because fusion expiraments are probably hella illegal, I can totally see her finding out and yellow diamond being surprised she’s even alive. Especially after whatever it is that steven will show her. She will be willing to spill all of what she knows about homeworld and be a valuable ally.
I see people comparing peridot to a cat, but…
Any bird owner will tell you she is more like a bird than a cat.
One thing I am disappointed at with the new episode is that she’s confirmed to be a slice of pie and not a mountain dew dorito.

But when she reformed the discolouration around her eyes remained.
Conclusion: She isn’t wearing glasses, that’s her face colour.

Peridot is actually a bit of a bitch.
Peridot didn’t know about the crystal gems. Meaning Lapis Lazuli hasn’t made it back to the crystal homeworld yes.
Also, Peridot is a terrible leader considering she didn’t think it was suspicious that the red eye didn’t report back to her.
