there’s been a lot of talk on tumblr about negativity in the steven universe fandom, but i’ve been following it from the first episode and i’m pretty much totally unaware of that? have i just been lucky enough to not be exposed to it? i love steven universe but i’d hate to accidentally be complacent with problematic stuff
It’s only recent as in the last week or so that drama got big. THe problem is that some people have the view that the SU fandom is the most pure fandom there is without any porn or bad fans anywhere and think that if a brony joins the fandom (which many have been for a while now) that it will “taint” the fandom. The problem with this view is that it’s very ignorant and delusional. Bronies did not create porn of cartoons and the only people giving the SU fandom a bad name are the ones acting immature and not “sharing” their fandom with people.
The only people who will be pissed at things other than the horrible anatomy are whiny pissbabbies
The more SU Fandom post warning bronies to stay away the more I wanna sing “Why can’t we be Friends”
The more the SU fandom doesn’t want the term “gemtlemen to be used, the more trolls will use it brony or not because let’s be honest, the name is fucking stupid and the only reason people will even use it is to piss people off.
Dear Steven Universe fandom
If you are afraid of the brony fandom making the SU fandom look bad, then congrats. Now you now how a majority of the brony fandom feels because the only bronies who would make SU fandom look bad are the few that make the brony fandom look bad.
As of now, however, those of you acting like children and telling people they can’t watch a show because you watch the show are currently the only ones making the SU fandom look bad.

Ruby refers to Sapphire as “she” and since they are romantically involved, I trust Ruby would talk about Sapphire in her preferred pronouns. So, at the very least, one of the garnet ship is female. And if Jasper was running from the direction ruby came from after yelling “where is she” meaning while yes, they are sexless, both Ruby AND Sapphire identify as female.
So YES it IS a lesbian couple.
Am I the only one who thinks that Garnet's extra eye is from Sapphire? Here forehead was covered, and it didn't look like she had any eyes so it'd make sense. It seems like Ruby was their strength, and Sapphire was all abilities. If the mutation theory is correct, then that'd mean that Garnet has no mutations, she's a perfect fusion.
Among other things, Sapphires represent prophecies. This means That Sapphire is most likely the one with future sight. Also, gem fusions are absolutely perfect when the gems are completely in sync. remember how stevonnie looked normal and garnet was incredibly happy because of how perfect steven and connie fused? Other fusions like Opal are when the gems are kinda normal because the gems still understand each other, just not on a romantic level. And then there are gems that are forced to fuse like Malachite where the gems hate each other and form some sort of monster fusion.
But yeah, Sapphire is the one with future sight and garnet and stevonnie are perfect fusions.
