Due to the fact that the temple has both sapphire and rubys gems on the door, it’s possible that they were separate during it’s construction.

This is really cute when you realize that ruby is holding sapphires gem on garnet with her gem and sapphire is holding rubys gem on garnet with her gem.
Remember when Amethyst said Pearl was “Shut down by the G-Squad!“? Well, a squad is a group of people, not just one. Subtle foreshadowing, or a mere coincidence?

No, there was a lot of foreshadowing. Look at the gems for garnets door
They are the bottom ones. the red one and the blue one. Now look at garnets gems
They are both pink. Not red or blue.

Birds and wings are supposed to be a sign of freedom, but as Jasper said Lapis has been a prisoner all her life. Torn down when she’s so close to freedom again and again. And just when she thinks she has it, it turns out it’s not what she thought it would be. And now our baby bird has accepted her fate and the fact that she is no good except a stepping stool for other people, and lives at the depths as a fusion.
