If this really was Lapis, which it seems it is, and she was part of BDs court, then she had exposure to the rebellion group in its infancy, while it was only RQ and P. Lapis probably heard reports of it’s growth with the addition of Garnet. She might have felt betrayed that a Homeworld gem, and an aristocrat at that (I don’t think she’d really care about Ruby since they’re considered to be common soldiers), betrayed her own people and ideals. And eventually, when they gained Amethyst, she could have been sent to attack the group by BD. Maybe Rose sealed Lapis in the mirror, and that’s why the others don’t know how it happened? I don’t really want to think they’re lying to Steven. Especially with something that serious.
Well if you look at the reactions to the gems when they find out about lapis
Garnet is angry while pearl and amethyst are shocked
Garnet gets more angry and amethyst looks scared… or guilty… Pearl on the other hand looks congused more than anything else.
I think that lapis wasn’t sealed until after amethyst joined the group and pearl had no idea. But amethyst and garnet knew. And so did rose probably.
If the story is how steven imagines it as garnet tells him, it’s still possible that same gems can look different ad steven has only seen one ruby so that’s what he uses as a reference when imagining the story
I just realized. the only reason Rose Quartz died was because Steven needed the gem. That means had Rose lived and Steven was gemless, he would have been a stillborn. That’s just something scary I thought of.

Fat=/=ugly. Rose being called fat is a good thing because it shows people can be both beautiful AND fat. I will call her fat because she is fat. I will call her beautiful because she is beautiful and I will call her elegant because she is elegant. Representation matters.
Also this, just in case there are still ANY people out there who think Pearl just viewed Rose Quartz as “her liege” or a mother or a friend.
Pearl was and is still romantically in love with Rose Quartz. It’s been abundantly clear since “Rose’s Scabbard”. It’s canon. If blatantly showing it in the show didn’t clue you in, here it is straight from a writer on the show. Get over it.
Total honesty time? I really did think that it was a strong ‘liege’ relationship… up until Rose’s Scabbard. I’m slow to seeing cannon ships unless it’s spelled out in neon letters and BOY OH BOY.

The only reasons why you’d still deny this was a ship that happened, you either just didn’t see the episodes or you’re just straight up tripping at this point.
People are in such denial that they refuse to look at all evidence pointing to something being true. Hell, not even word of god can sway them. Remember back when people refused to accept that korrasami was a thing that happened despite the writers confirming it was romantic, not platonic? Or people trying to convince everyone that ruby is a boy? People are so scared of something being out of the norm that they deny the truth that sometimes people like people of the same gender.
