bloodsbane:

I find myself growing more and more desperate for some real gem history - I wanna know the grand origin story of their species. Like, were the Diamond’s borne from the earth of a planet far far away? Where they created? Where they just HERE, since the dawn of the gems? Are the Diamond’s currently in control the same Diamond’s who originally led the empire? Was their species always organized in this way?

And, y'know… Now that I think about it, is there a possibility that Earth is not the first (or last?) instance of a gem starting some form of rebellion against that authority? Their reach is described as intergalactic; with so many possibilities for gem colonies, what are the chances this is the first and only time a successful anarchy had occurred?

Are there currently other planets fighting against Homeworld? Did Rose’s rebellion inspire others?

I’m wondering now, because this could be some of the reason why Homewoeld is ‘running low on resources’ as Peridot has put it. Maybe Earth is, at this point, really the least of Homeworld’s problems.

And if THAT’s the case… Perhaps holding out against the Diamond’s really isn’t such an impossible task?

It could be that earth inspired many revolutions kind of like how the american revolution sparked many other countries to revolt.

I don’t see why people are so surprised that bismuth was evil

Remember who poofed lapis, who was a civilian during the war?

Bismuth wasn’t really evil, that’s the worst thing about her. She meant well, she wanted to improve the situation but made some really bad decisions.

She was a zealot and an extremist. She attacked civilians and created a weapon that would shatter gems. Someone like that would be court martialed in this day and age.

Steven: we don't have to actually kill other gems, that would be wrong
Bismuth: what kind of sjw fuckery

When did “murder is bad” become a controversial opinion wtf

The idea in question wasn’t “Murder is bad” it was “murder for good ideals and/or in the name of peace is bad”

Okay but consider: murder is bad

don’t forget that attacking civilians is also bad. Lapis was a civilian when bismuth poofed her.
