Hey guys quick heads up, but Twitter’s already starting in on the “this is what Texas gets for voting red” jokes and I’d like to give a topical reminder that Houston, San Antonio, and Corpus Christi are all majority minority cities. Houston, the valley, and SA went blue last election, and Corpus was pretty close to it.
Make jokes about Texans all you like - we deserve a lot of them - but the election ones are misplaced in this instance. A good lot of the folks this storm is gonna barrel into are the opposite of what you’re imagining, and none of us are looking forward to getting blamed for the disaster relief that’s gonna deprioritize our suffering.
